Cookie Policy
Last updated: February 2026
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit a website or use a web application. They are widely used to make services work more efficiently, to provide a better user experience, and to give platform operators information about how their services are being used.
Local storage and session storage are similar browser-based technologies that we also use for certain functions. This policy covers all such storage mechanisms collectively.
2. How We Use Cookies and Local Storage
AaharIQ uses browser storage mechanisms for the following specific purposes:
3. Types of Cookies We Use
We store your authentication state so you remain logged in between sessions. The access token is held in memory only (not persisted to disk) for security. The refresh token is stored in localStorage and is used to silently obtain new access tokens without requiring you to log in again.
Remembers your chosen display theme (dark or light mode) so the application loads in your preferred appearance on every visit.
Stores the ID of your most recent AI chat session to enable seamless conversation continuity across browser tabs and page reloads. The session data itself is stored server-side; only the session identifier is stored locally.
If we use privacy-respecting analytics (e.g., aggregated page view counts), a cookie may be set to distinguish returning visits from new ones. No personally identifiable information is stored in analytics cookies, and we do not use cross-site tracking.
4. What We Do Not Use
AaharIQ does not:
- Use advertising or tracking cookies from third-party ad networks
- Set cookies to build behavioural profiles for targeted advertising
- Share cookie data with social media platforms
- Use fingerprinting or other invasive tracking techniques
5. Third-Party Cookies
We use a minimal set of third-party services that may set their own cookies or storage entries on your device:
- Payment Gateway: When you access the subscription checkout, our payment partner (e.g., Stripe) may set cookies necessary to process your transaction securely. These cookies are governed by the payment provider's own privacy and cookie policy.
- Font Services: We may load web fonts from a CDN. These requests may set a cache cookie on your device, but they do not track your behaviour across sites.
6. Managing & Disabling Cookies
You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies. Note that if you block strictly necessary cookies (such as authentication tokens), core features of the Service — including login — will not function correctly.
Below are links to cookie management guides for popular browsers:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
You can also clear localStorage and sessionStorage via your browser's developer tools (usually accessed via F12) under the Application or Storage tab.
7. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the technologies we use or in applicable regulations. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the updated policy here with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to check this page periodically.
